Iran Eyes 1mbd Crude Output in West Karoon
TEHRAN (Shana) – Iranian Minister of Petroleum Bijan Zangeneh said the country expected to bring crude oil production to 1 million barrels per day in West Karoon Fields.
Speaking to reporters on Saturday, the official said production from the fields in the play had increased 5 times since 2013 (the year Iranian President Hassan Rouhani took office in Iran), adding development of the fields relied on the National Development Fund of Iran.
He said technologies and financing resources were needed to bring the region’s crude oil output to the desired levels, adding, “We are currently fully active in the West Karoon Region.”
